Biography

Professor Eli Alon is a Professor of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine at the University of Zurich, and Director of the Pain Control Unit in Zurich, treating acute and chronic, cancer and non-cancer pain with multidisciplinary management. He is an Honorary Member of the Swiss Association for the Study of Pain, and has previously been an Executive Board Member of the European Pain Federation EFIC, the Chairman of Anesthesia Department in Lugano, Switzerland, President of the Swiss Association for the Study of Pain, and President of the European Society of Obstetric Anesthesiology. Professor Alon is former Editor of Der Schmerz and of the European Journal of Pain, Obstetric Anesthesia Digest, Pain Clinic, Acta Anaesthesiologica Helvetica and International Monitor of Regional Anesthesia. He is the author of 10 books and proceedings, as well as numerous published articles. He has organised and been invited to speak at many national and international congresses and meetings.
