Biography
Dr Jane Quinlan studied medicine in London and initially trained in anaesthesia at St Thomas’ and St Bartholomew’s hospitals. She is currently a consultant in anaesthesia and pain management at the Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and is an honorary senior clinical lecturer at the University of Oxford. Dr Quinlan also serves as secretary for the Acute Pain Special Interest Group (APSIG) for the International Association for the Study of Pain and was past chair of APSIG of the British Pain Society.
Dr Quinlan has an interest in prescribed opioid dependence, a topic on which she lectures nationally. She also leads a clinic which supports patients in stopping dependency/use of opioids. She was a core member of the Opioid Painkiller Dependence Alliance; a unique collaboration of pain and addiction specialists and patient groups, who are committed to raising awareness of dependence on prescribed opioids and campaigning for dedicated services.
