Biography
Andrea Johansson Capusan (AJC) a senior consultant, specialist in psychiatry and addiction medicine with a clinical expertise in general psychiatry, substance use disorder (SUD) and comorbid neurodevelopmental and psychiatric disorders. In her clinical work, AJC currently focuses on the treatment of opioid use disorder and of ADHD with comorbid SUD. AJC is the medical director of the Addiction Department at the Psychiatric Clinic in Linköping and is a member of the board of directors of the Psychiatric Clinic.
AJC is an associate professor at the Center for Social and Affective Neuroscience (CSAN) at Linköping University. Her scientific work explores genetic and environmental risk factors for developing SUD and for the association between ADHD and SUD, using a combination of clinical data, and regional and national registers. As a clinical researcher she is involved in the implementation of novel treatments in opioid use disorder and is also part of a multidisciplinary team exploring underlying neural mechanisms in sensory processing and executive control in ADHD.
AJC is involved in developing and implementing education programs in addiction medicine and comorbidity with ADHD. She has been a board member for the Swedish society for alcohol and drug research (SAD) since 2016.
