Reach. Reconnect. Retain: Solutions for engaging high-risk opioid-use disorder (OUD) patients
Watch our Summer 2025 educational webinar led by Dr Steve Brinksman and joined by Mr Danny Ahmed.
Opioid dependency is most commonly treated with either methadone or buprenorphine in an out-patient scenario, which perhaps favours the engaged patient but may not be suitable for all patients. Listen to our experts discuss the reasons that patients may become refractory to treatment and whether different patient populations may be more prone to becoming refractory to treatment. This webinar discusses potential methods to re-engage these hard-to-reach patients and provides examples of how to re-engage them with addiction therapy without simply repeating a previously unsuccessful treatment approach.
The agenda covers the following learning objectives:
- Explain the reasons why patients may be lost to treatment
- Outline the importance of psychosocial support for dependent opioid users regardless of the pharmacological agent used
- Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of opioid replacement therapies and why certain individuals may be more suited to one therapy over another
- Assess methods of re-engagement for refractory-to-treatment patients and determine a course of action for an individual patient
Who is the webinar for?
This 60-minute expert webinar is suitable for both primary and secondary care clinicians looking to improve their care and management of patients with opioid use disorder.
